Industries We Serve in the Home Service Trades
Every trade sells differently. A furnace replacement, a new roof and a pool build each come with their own buyer, their own objections and their own season. We build sales training and marketing around the trade you’re actually in, then run it with you until it produces signed work.
Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you.
Legacy Sales Engineering works with home service contractors whose teams sell in the customer’s home: HVAC, roofing, electrical, pools, remodeling, flooring, chimney and gas, exterior cleaning and home safety services. Each industry gets sales training and marketing rewritten in its own language and run by one accountable team, for contractors in Florida and nationwide.
Which industries do we work with most?
Heating and air contractors
Comfort advisors who close replacements without discounting, and marketing that turns calls into installed systems through every season.
Roofing contractors
Estimators who win retail roofs at the kitchen table, and marketing that keeps signing work between storms.
Why does industry-specific marketing and training matter?
The buyer is different in every trade
A homeowner with no air conditioning in August is making a fast decision under pressure. A homeowner collecting three roof bids has weeks to compare. A family planning a pool is making a dream purchase with a spouse and a lender involved. Generic scripts and generic ads treat all three the same, and that is why they underperform. We start with how your buyer actually decides.
The words have to be yours
The seven-step framework and Solution Based Questions stay the same in every trade. The wording, offers, objections and seasons change completely. We rewrite everything in the language of your trade: your equipment and materials, your warranties, your financing and the questions your customers really ask.
Which other trades have their own programs?
Each trade below has its own marketing page and sales training page, rewritten in the language of that trade. Our client work and Shawn’s own sales career cover every one of them. If your team quotes work in front of the homeowner, the same system applies.
Every engagement starts from the same question: how does your buyer decide? See our client work for examples across these trades.

How do we build a program for a new trade?
We learn how the work is sold
Before we write a word, we ride along, listen to recorded calls and read your last few months of estimates. We want to know who the buyer is, what they compare you against, which objections come up every week and when the work slows down. That becomes the foundation for both the sales language and the marketing, so neither one is guessing.
We build the marketing around the same answers
The questions your buyers ask at the kitchen table are the same ones they type into Google and ask AI search tools. We turn them into service pages, ad copy, review requests and follow-up messages, so the homeowner hears one consistent story from the first search to the signed contract. When the sales team and the marketing say the same thing, both get easier.
How does working with Legacy Sales Engineering start?
Book a free evaluation
Tell us your trade, your market, your team and your numbers. We'll ask about lead sources, answer rate, close rate and average ticket, because those four numbers show where growth is stuck.
We find the biggest leak
Sometimes it's marketing. Often it's missed calls, slow follow-up or a sales conversation that ends in a discount. You get a plain answer about what to fix first and what it's worth.
We build it in your language and run it
Marketing, CRM, phones and sales training built around your trade and run with you, with monthly reporting on booked and signed work, not just leads.
What happens when sales and marketing run as one system?
Most contractors buy marketing from one company, a CRM from another, phones from a third and sales training from nobody. Each vendor reports its own numbers, and nobody owns the result. When one team runs the whole path, the leads, the follow-up and the sales conversation all get judged by the same number: signed work. It also means one call when something breaks, one report that ties spend to revenue, and one team that tells you plainly when a channel, a vendor or a habit is costing you money.
What it looks like done right
Every lead gets a fast response, day or night.
Your team runs the same sales conversation in every home.
You can see which marketing dollars turned into signed work.
Growth stops depending on the owner running every big appointment.
Who will you be working with?
Shawn Derrick founded Legacy Sales Engineering after 25 years in sales, much of it in customers’ homes. He has trained and overseen sales teams that generated more than $500 million in revenue across solar, roofing, windows, home security and remodeling. Every trade we serve gets the same thing: a system he has run himself, rewritten for your industry and run with your team until it holds. Stop selling. Start solving.
Is Legacy Sales Engineering the right fit for your business?
It is probably a good fit if
- Your team sells in the customer’s home
- Two or more people handle leads or appointments
- You spend on marketing and can’t tie it to signed work
- You want one accountable team instead of five vendors
It is not the right first move if
- You don’t sell in the home, such as retail or e-commerce. Our system is built for in-home sales.
- You’re a one-person operation just starting out. Start with one-on-one coaching and local SEO, then build the system as you hire.
Questions about the industries we serve
What industries does Legacy Sales Engineering serve?
We serve home service contractors whose teams sell in the customer's home: HVAC, roofing, electrical, pools, chimney and gas, remodeling, flooring, pressure washing and exterior cleaning, dryer vent and home safety, and solar, windows and security. Each of these trades has its own marketing page and sales training page.
Do you work with trades that are not listed here?
Yes. The system applies to any contractor who quotes work in front of the homeowner. When we take on a trade without its own page, building its sales language, offers and marketing is part of the engagement, and we tell you on the first call if we are not the right fit.
Does every trade get the same program?
The seven-step sales framework and the marketing system are the same in every trade. The wording, offers, objections and seasons are rewritten for yours, which is why each trade has its own marketing page and sales training page instead of one generic pitch.
Do I need both marketing and sales training?
Not always. Some companies need more leads, some need to close the leads they already have, and many need both. The free evaluation shows which one is holding you back, and we only recommend what fixes it.
Do you work with contractors outside Florida?
Yes. We are based in North Central Florida and work with contractors anywhere in the US. Marketing, CRM and coaching run remotely, and in-person training is available for larger teams.
How much does it cost to work with you?
Individual services are quoted on the first call based on your trade, market and goals. Our Full Stack program covers marketing, CRM, phones and sales training together for $4,995 a month.
What happens on the free evaluation?
Thirty minutes on your trade, your market and your numbers: lead sources, answer rate, close rate and average ticket. You leave knowing what we would fix first, even if the answer is that you don't need us yet.
